About Troy Powell
Raised in Middle Tennessee, Troy has been a life-long horseman with a passion to learn as much about horses as he can.
From rodeo, to in and out of the show horse industry (where he trained and hauled youth and amateur exhibitors on the national Quarter Horse circuit), to ranching in both Tennessee and the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming, horses have been both an integral part of Troy’s life and his constant companions. While not a student of any particular horseman, Troy has been influenced by and privileged to ride with many of the greats; however, he believes that the greatest teacher is the horse itself, and that listening to and learning from the horse is a lifetime journey. |
At the present time, Troy works with horses of all breeds and ages. From starting fresh colts, to re-starting problem horses, Troy has a particular interest in helping riders understand and become partners with their horses.
In his own words: "My primary goal is helping horses to have the best start possible and to overcome problems; my secondary goal is helping riders to overcome their fears and to become leaders in order to build communication and improved partnership. My journey continues every day, and if I have helped any one with any aspect of their journey, then I am fulfilled." |
